Technical Aspects Of Live Theater
There are various technical aspects of live theater since theater is an endeavor which is accomplished through great collaboration. Apart from the most recognizable figures in theatre such as directors, playwrights, and actors there are various other technical aspect of live theater too, about which you will get to read in this article.
Usually a large team works to produce a live theater performance. Different members of this production team look after different technical aspects of live theater. A production team that works behind a theater performance usually comprises of a set designer, lighting designer, costume designer, sound designer, stage manager, props mistress or master and production manager.
There is a generic term that is used to describe the live theater’s technical aspects and the term is called as Stagecraft. It encompasses various disciplines that are further divided into a various number of main disciplines that are described below:
• Lighting: This technical aspect of live theater comprises of the process of finding out various things related to lighting during the performance. For example what would be the size, intensity, shape, and color of light for a given scene? It also manages the hanging, focusing, arrangements and maintenance of lighting and special effects equipment.
